Penalty is mostly about placement and being not easily readable (also better goalie really helps) If you actually look at those penalty kicks, the majority of them doesn't really have much power in it. From 4 Croatia penalty kicks, only 1 was being executed by a pure forward, and that person missed.
The thing with PK is that you need to practice for it. It is different to kick in a normal situation vs for penalty kick. Even Brazil was defeated by Croatia doing PK. I think it Croatia as a team probably has been practicing PK harder.

And any time he gets the free kick, it's a wasted opportunity, especially when you have Bruno in the team.
